What We Do

Helping You Discover Your Own Path

Parent coaching is a personalized change process that takes place within a co-constructive relationship between parent and coach, using the parent’s current strengths and resources to develop positive growth. A parent coach helps a parent determine what dreams and priorities she has for her family, and then helps construct practical action steps to move toward what she wants.

Coaching is not a quick fix; it’s not pat answers, one size fits all. It is personalized for each unique parent, for each one-of-a-kind family. While a parent coach may offer relevant information and expertise, coaching is a process that requires commitment and whole-hearted participation by both parent and coach.

Coaching usually takes place over the course of 8 to 10 weeks, via an hourly phone or zoom call, or in person if located in the Tulsa, OK area.

Parent Coaching IS…

Personalized– Each parent is unique, each family is one-of-a-kind, so we will work together to determine what you want for your family, and how you can achieve it.

Co-Constructive– Coach and parent both bring vital information to this journey, and we work together moving toward what you want.

Strengths-Based– We will discover and highlight the key strengths you have that can be used as resources to achieve your dream.

Positive-Approach– We focus on the good (while not ignoring the struggles) to amplify the positive and reframe, looking at the bigger picture.

Parent Coaching IS NOT…

Counseling: we don’t focus on healing past wounds or traumas. We are addressing everyday challenges and struggles. If you have some unresolved issues from your past that are hindering your current situation, we highly recommend counseling.

Consulting: I do come with experience and knowledge, but this is not about me giving you solutions for all your problems and answers to all your questions. This is about supporting you in discovering what matters to you, what you want for your family, and working together to find how you can move toward that, including offering appropriate resources and guidance when desired.

A Quick Fix or One-Size-Fits-All: Usually parent coaching takes place over 8-12 weekly hour-long sessions. This process requires commitment and whole-hearted participation by both parent and coach.
